In the film
district 9, the aliens who live on earth live in slums made from old junk
recycled for them, there are scrap piles and it is very easy to spot that they
build items from all the available scrap and junk, also there is one alien who
is smart enough to repair his technology with all the available scrap so he
takes advantage of this, it also makes everything in the slums look possible
and not exaggerated because of the recycling.

The comic
Iron man is born is like the first iron man film where he is held in a cave and
told to create advanced weaponry with nothing but old scrap, he manages to
create an advanced core for himself out of the old junk so he can live and then
continues to make the mark 1 suit and break out of the cave where he further
improved his creation.
Game
In the game
Borderlands 2 recycling is present everywhere, you can see every house and
structure is constructed by scrap found lying about, when roaming outside you
can see junk piles everywhere were the spare scrap looks to come from and some
of the parts in it you can recognize on the common scrap huts and some
buildings in the bigger areas, also the melee weapons some of the enemies look
like they’ve been put together with spare scrap and some tape as well the body armor some of them wear, but this really adds to the recycled junk look.
Illustration
This illustration shows a clear link to recycling
because the bright green tree symbolizes the nature, only the entire picture is
just made up of recycling logos to capture the meaning.
Animation
In the animation series Red vs Blue Sarge builds his Spanish robot Lopez out of all of the scrap and junk he has available to him, although Lopez doesn't turn out to be reliable or built well.
